Chevrolet has replaced the 3.6-liter V6 engine and nine-speed automatic transmission of previous years with a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine and eight-speed automatic transmission capable of 315 hp and 317 lb-ft of torque. This change doesn’t affect the Traverse’s towing capacity as it remains constant at 5,000 lbs. However, the change does represent a 19 percent increase in torque.
 
Standard across all trims is a 17.7-inch diagonal color infotainment touchscreen system, 10-speaker Bose* premium sound system, power-folding seats, upgraded materials, adaptive cruise control, rear-folding seats, seating for seven to eight passengers, and “best-in-class” cargo space of 98 cu. Ft. Jet-black and red leather seating accentuates a welcoming and spacious interior.
 
Chevrolet has spared no expense when it comes to the technology features included in this overhaul. Aside from the 17.7-inch infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, built-in Alexa, Apps, and multiple USB ports are standard. 

Standard safety features include front pedestrian braking, side impact alert, cross traffic alert, safety assist, and blind zone steering assist. A dual-panel sunroof comes standard on the RS but is an option on the LT and Z71 trims. Mileage is a competitive 21 mpg combined.
